Hoping to get some help on a PS1. When starting my PS1 (chipped) the disc spins to full speed for a second or two, then stops. The PS1 clearly doesn’t load the game. I’ve bought a new laser head from China and replaced it - still doesn’t work. I’ve loaned the laser head from my gf’s PS1 (not chipped) - still doesn’t work.

Posted January 23, 2011. I can't get my V7 39001 PS2 to read PS1 CDs. I have tried cleaning the lens and adjusting the cog that raises and lowers the lens. Sometimes it will see the CDs as audio and sometimes it will try to run them and just go to a black screen. I've read that PS2s just stop reading PS1 disks after a while, so I might just get.
